Then, I had my little boy, Zayden. While pregnant, my body craved all kinds of new things; one of those being dance. Being so uncomfortable, dance became one of the few ways my body felt most comfortable. In addition, Kendra's support and enthusiasm kept bringing me back. As intimidated as I had been with the idea of dancing, Kendra helped me be at ease, and inspired me to come back for more. Last January, now well into motherhood, I had a very strong desire to dance more! Without compromising my other classes, I decided it was time for me to evolve and integrate dance into my repertoire. Kendra has been mentoring me for almost a year now, and just this past November I taught my first Planet Motion classes - start to finish. Oh yes, I was as nervous as I have EVER been, and also thrilled and excited to be given the opportunity! And though I will never be Kendra (I want Kendra to be Kendra!!!!), I love being able to instruct this joyful, vital and transformational format. It is something everyone can do, with a very short learning curve. The coordination, agility, flexibility and grace you can cultivate from this class creates such a wonderful and worthwhile balance to all other forms of fitness. Planet Motion, and more specifically, Kendra, offer a safe space to get out of your comfort zone and "dance like no one is watching!" - because, in truth, no one really is! It is a fun and fabulous way to get fit at home! Kendra leads the way, and my athletic, seemingly non-dancey body has the extraordinary opportunity to follow, play and have fun! Check it out, everyone! Thanks Kendra! "All I can really say is WOW! This class is so incredible on so many levels. The first part... I think Kendra (the teacher) called it Meditation in Motion, really helped ground me in my body cause I was pretty nervous not ever having done this class before. And then Kendra launched in to this totally funky, fun, work your butt music and dance that was... not really that hard to follow. It took me a few times, but I got some of it. The energy of the class was infectious. I left feeling exhilarated, sweaty and busy trying to figure out when I could do this Planet Motion thing again." -- Kim, Lyons, CO |
